I’m sure you would be very happy and very lucky if you
received a complimentary hotel stay for two. It would be a perfect getaway and an awesome
overnight stay. I know hotels are doing it especially for advertisement
purposes or special occasion. One example is One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites in
Tagaytay City. I just won a complimentary overnight
A friend of mine returned home to celebrate his birthday. He
wishes to do it in Tagatay. We went there for lunch and had a quick fun at
SkyRanch and then there’s a girl giving out vouchers for 50% discount at One
Tagaytay Place. It was a real perfect timing. So when I get home I called reception from the number listed to confirm if it’s a valid or
not. It was actually valid, the girl gave me the cut price half of the original one however the rate is still not affordable for me. I'm so poor.
After a couple of days I thought I’m done with
this hotel, I received call from unregistered number and then introduced
herself as “Rhaine”. She enthusiastically telling me that I just won a gift
certificate from this hotel, an overnight stay for two. Honestly I was glad and
excited and I’m not surprised how they got my number. I'm sure that was when I called them regarding the validity of the voucher.
Day to day, I have received calls from this number reminding
me not to forget my schedule when to get the gift certificate. They also
advised that we should stay there in Ortigas office for a 90 minute presentation
with free cocktail buffet. And I said that’s fine, in exchange for an overnight
stay for two why not?
When the day arrived, they prompted me again via text
message to be there 30 minutes before time; I was scheduled at 2PM. From that moment,
I was kinda thinking why they're very persistent? So I called the reception
desk again straight in Tagaytay office to confirm if their Ortigas office has
this kind of presentation that they invite people with buffet and something.
The girl confirmed that yes, which is part of promotions.
I thought I’m already okay but there’s a feeling of apprehension, I
don’t wanna be victimized again to any kind of modus. Once, twice, thrice those
are enough from networking groups. So I checked forums over the web if One
Tagaytay Place has this kind of activities and if it’s legit.
And here's what I found and seems like her story is the same as what's they're telling me..
Now I’m not sure if it’s a scam or not. I’m not sure also if
they’re really related to One Tagaytay Place Hotel Suites. However when I
called their desk and received some confirmation, then it will make you
realize. I’m not posting this article against One Tagatay Place Hotel
itself, but I’m posting this to save people’s time, the money and effort. And I guess this is something One Tagaytay Place should clear.
After I messaged them that I’m not coming and not interested
anymore and sharing the URL above, I received text message again (second photo).
Nahhh..how persistent are they.

Truth is they are one of the marketing agencies tied up with One Tagaytay place. They lure clients of the freebies BUT only after you avail of their membership which cost thousands of pesos. Nakakatawa kasi sasabihin pa nilang May free buffet before the presentation. Office is at the corner of Meralco Ave n J. Vargas... Unless you are willing to hand them your credit card...go ahead otherwise this is BULL.... Sinasayang lang oras mo. After I declined, sunod sunod na spam texts ang na received ko dat I won something again or May MMS that I have to open but I need to type this digit.... Un pala pasa load scam din..... NEVER EVEr GIvE Ur NuMBEr also....
What the heck. Glad that we decided to check forums first over the web and read the blogpost that I shared. Anyway, since they're marketing agencies tied with this Hotel, so Hotel knows about these activities?
I just received the same message from One Tagaytay Place. They kept on calling me and inviting me to claim the complimentary gift certificate. Honestly, I love One Tagaytay Hotel, but after knowing that they also have this Marketing Strategy in getting clients on their Hotel, i was a bit disappointed. For all victims, if you see the same story, please don't waste your time.

Thank you for sharing your story. And you're right I LOVE ONE TAGAYTAY PLACE, they have the best and good facilities, with good overview however they should eliminate third party agents or such activities like this, it's killing their business.

nagpunta kami kagabi sa presentation dito ginanap sa Charinas resto bar here in santiago city isabela. pagkatapos ng dinner. usap usap na bago mo ma avail mga discount dapat mag pa VIP member pinipilit ka talagang mag downpayment.. parang pyramid scam..

I just received a call today giving me this opportunity. Pero malinaw naman na sinabi sakin na iwan ko daw sa bahay ng credit cards ko and ATM cards or extra money. ID lang daw kelangan nila for confirmation. So ano nga kaya talaga?

Got the same call\text. We won daw due to the coupon we filled up during a convention in SMX. From Club Ultima\Crown Regency in Makati daw sila. Claim our gift cert daw.

I thank GOD that I read this blog and the other one shared by the author about this scheme, before going to OneTagaytayPlace. Although most of the readers were discouraged to avail the offer, hubby and I still took the risk of attending their presentation **,)
Had a mindset to decline whatever they'll offer and just take advantage of the free dinner and overnight stay that they promise =D
The PERKS that they are offering is nice but only for those who have plenty of money to spare or should I say for multi-millionaires. They are offering a membership fee that is equivalent to a price of a small house or may even be a brand new car, which is insane because we will never spend that much just to go on a yearly vacation for the next 40 years.
Anyway, bottomline is we got our GC without paying anything =)
Next thing to do is use the GC and see if it's really for free.
I will update you if we're able to use it without any hassle. Cheers!

My family was at Manila Ocean Park when someone get my number and handed me a coupon. The next day, someone called me saying that I won 3D/2N accommodation at El Puerto Marina Resort in Boracay, Palawan, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.and a free dinner buffet from registering and participating at the MOP Promo, and that I should claim it with my husband or partner. I entertained their calls and their messages to check and learn their strat. My husband was very skeptic about it and said that it was a scam since (1) there should be a duration period on claiming the prize and not just on 1 specific day (2) that explains the 90-minute presentation (3)they will call again if we did not claim the prize. And yes, he was right, everyday they keep on calling and texting. After three weeks, another number called me and asking me if I already claimed the gift from the Manila Ocean Park Coupon, then she said that I can still claim a hotel accommodation at One Tagaytay Place.
I want to give it a shot and use in on Valentine's Day with our kids! So, thanks for sharing.

Hi guys after reading this blog we recall our same experienced with One Tagaytay Hotel. Maybe for the others it is a good experience and investment but for us we can't say that, and we are thankful that we did not invest in them. Over rated and Over pricing Hotel in booking and even on foods. Warning to everyone that what they offer is not a free accommodation, you will pay a booking fee of 1000 pesos.
Same with the blogger, there is a person coming to us and invite us to sign a free ticket for their hotel raffle, then after a month we received text and calls from One Tagaytay Hotel Office at Ortigas and telling us that we have won a hotel accommodation just to attend their hotel presentation with free cocktail buffet. We goes to their office just to see the 90 minutes presentation but we are dissapointed because it is just their marketing strategy for you to Buy an account to them. They called it vacation ownership.
Maybe their interest is clean, just for a business strategy but sorry because what we felt after all our we experienced is just a money money matter only. We decide not to going back again to that Hotel even they give us another 50% discount when we go back.
Things that are not true:
1. 90 minutes presentation - 2 to 3 hours or more until then convince you to buy their vacation ownership or turn it down. Take note that if you are there you will be pressure to buy.
2. IF you buy the vacation ownership you need to pay monthly of 10,000 or more depends on the package that you avail. The total price of this ownership if I'm not mistaken is around 700,000 and up.
3. COMPLIMENTARY OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION - THIS IS NOT FREE. You need to pay 1000 for booking fee.
4. Five Star Hotel - I don't think so.
- Hotel Lobby too small
- Hotel entrance is on the car park.
- Elevator is too small. 4 to 5 persons. One of the two elevator is not functioning.
- Room is too small, Comfort room is too small with no bathtub.
- By request Refrigerator. (This is so funny but this is real)
- By request slippers.
- Foods are too expensive compare to others.
- Not courteous and accommodating staff.
5. You need to pay 3000 deposit on the hotel (refundable)
6. The only Park near the hotel is the Picnic Grove.

I was planning to go tom.for their presentation thinking that it was just their marketing strategy to promote their hotel, but after reading this i think i wont go anymore, time is to precious for me to spent on this kind of bussiness. Recently had the unforgettable experience you guys are talking about.
OMG,they are such a jerk, its a scam no doubt.I even told the secretary upon the explaining to us that we really need to complete the 90min presentation.She vehemently denied it, said they are not taking any money at all so we proceed with the one on one presentation.To make it short, after 2hrs of convincing , trying to make us be a member by paying P10,000 to no avail the agent finally handed us the so cAalled "complimentary voucher".To my dismay ,I saw the amount of P1,000 resevation fee (non refundable) upon booking for a night without bfast at deluxe room.
I think we need to report this promotion scam this hotel claimed to be offering.

Update: Same kind of scam but different strategy. Now they are making phone calls (not the usual text scam, kasi nga naman iiscreenshot lang din). I'm surprised they knew my number and my name, so I was kind of hooked into the fact that they are legit. They asked for my details such as my name, age, status and address. Good thing I didnt gave my whole address though. The offer soundsreally good to be true, but I gave my details anyway, well, damn.but at least they didnt ask for my banking details.
